Just got this interesting "Staatsangehoerigkeitsausweis" signed in the name of the Polizeipraesident of Hamburg . Interesting in the sense , that I always thought everyone carried a passport and I have never seen this type of document for citizenship .

The docoment is made out for a Max Henry Rathig , living in Hamburg-Langenhorn I , born on 9.Juli,1880 in Hamburg .
