Picked up this neat little bayonet has a circleP proof 1948 date,is this US and for what rifle.Didnt have a scabbard,worth 10.00?

I don't know the model #, but it's British.
I was recently watching one on Ebay, and it sold for a little over $100. Of course that one had it's scabbard.

I think that one is referred to as the British "Jungle Carbine" bayonet.

not jungle carbine but called the swivel pomel for the lee enfield mk iv short lived and getting very scarce comes with either black or red grip. Remembe the jungle carbine had a flash eliminator and thus had a large ring.Oh and yes worth 10.00 and a few more even without scabbard.

Thanks guys!I think I will hang onto it and look for a scabbard for it,might find one ya never know.It looks like a bowie knife kind of. Smile

THE BLADE is a distinct cousin of the later FAL bayonet made by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium
