Here are two of my prized possesions,a salver presented to the 6th SS Reiterstandarte and a very heavy crystal and silver decanter presented to the 13th SS Reiterstandarte,hope you enjoy.

Decanter,this is complete with a centre tube of glass to enable crushed ice it be added and keep the wine chilled.

Mark,
Thanks for the sentiment.I found the salver on a dealer site in the UK,I did a deal on it together with a nice leather saddle bag with an early SSVT marking.The decanter was found for me by the same dealer,he knew of its existence and was able to secure it for me.I have searched everywhere for some more tournament prizes,to no availe,they will be out there but non offered for sale at the moment.

Thanks for the kind words,these are tough to find,it would seem they stay in estate type collections and surface rarely when estates are broken up,sold usually at German auction houses,then find their way onto dealer sites and sold for lots of money,boy would I like to do house clearence in Germany!
You are right about how these femer things survive,thank goodnes they do,pictures do not do them justice at all.
As for the stuffed horse,well that is another story,I can supply a real one,here is King Arthur,my trusty steed 17 hands of Dutch Gelderlander Warmblood,he is my most prized possesion!

Dave, Thanks for the kind words,we between us have nearly got the horse tacked up,I have a saddle,an Officers version,not stamped up unfortunately but very nice non the less.
It is amazing how the more femer pieces stay undamaged,thank goodness they do as pictures do not do them justice.
As for the stuffed horse,David,I can supply a real one,here is King Arthur,17 hands of Dutch Gelderlander,my most prized possesion and a real four legged friend!!

How are you going to ship that lot back to sunny California,one thing I notice is that the soldiers helmet is not a cavalry issue helmet.
