G24t Doesn't matter how you spell it those are three great firearms. '41/42 lugers are hard to find. The erfurt has beautiful straw colors and the colt look to be in excellent condition. Getting hard to find good guns like these at a reasonable price today.

G24T..These will go to your grandchildren? That might be overly optimistic with the political indoctronation American children recieve in schools in this country. Guns are lookd apon as horrible instruments of destruction. Schoolchildren are taught that they are worse than poisionous snakes. Most oldtimer I talk to say their children and grandchildren have no interest in these pieces of history. Jerry Burney

Thats true, I am going to sell my current"asualt rifles" semi autos in the future, If the dems get full control or even if Rudy gets in, he is not a friendly person towards gun owners. I have a nice collection from the civil war to present, My hope is, My grandson knows the name of every rifle and who made it and what war it was in, he is eleven years old. He said, Papa, they will be safe with me! My grand daughters father, my son-in-law, is a gun collector and hunter, I feel they will be safe with him, But there will be a day when the second admendment will be questioned even more than it is today. Rudy said, We will let the states decide who wants gun control or not. Maybe he should ask, Lets let the states decide on who wants the First admendment or not. Are they not both rights and to be reguarded as the same? I am very concerned about the coming years. G24t

I like your 1918 Erfurt. Not that many were made in the final year of the war. And are coveted by Luger collectors including me. Any chance their is a unit mark on the grip strap?

I sold my unit marked one last year. I did not know how rare is was until the buyer e-mailed me that the only other one known was the one in the imperial war museam in England. Oh well, live and learn, it was from a machine gun company. it was a P08 1908. g24t

G24t, What a Superb assemblage of choice Lugers from Both World Wars + a Mil. Issue 1918/1911! You've done well. Congratulations.
Hats off to you for sharing these with us - and for sharing your love of history & firearms with your family. "IF" family & friends don't share our collecting interests & passions ...then the Hobby has a limited future. But, I believe that the allure of history will overcome even the staunchest 'Brady Liberal.' Txs, Dave ....dblmed

Heres a quick story..I am talking with a recent High School graduate. I say something about Hitler..He says who's Hitler? I say remember your HS history..He says, I never took any, it wasn't required. No American history even? No, Nothing. I still have not gotten over that conversation. Our Schools are simply not doing the job. There will be no history for these children to refer too....Jerry Burney

Now that's really scary stuff! It sorta makes me glad I was born when I was and that I'll probably be checking out in the next 20-25 years. What was the name of that Broadway play? Something like "Stop the World, I want to get off"....

I keep telling my grandson, about history, he said no one in his 5th grade class at school even knows about pearl harbor. I will pass down to him a very good collection, I hope they will not take it after I am gone, they won't will I am alive. By the way, just got back from the rifle range with my grandson, my 30 cal carbine winchester shoots very nice. I built my grandson a 22-250 from a remington I had since 1976, never fired, he prefers my plainfield machine 30 cal. This is for his deer rifle, Oh well, i guess I can shoot the 22-250. g24t

The whole history of the middle of the 20th century will probably be reported as follows in another 50 years. It that point it will be forbidden to even mention guns or war:
"A nasty German leader named Hitler deactivated six million Jewish people. Three other leaders named Roosevelt,Churchill amd Stalin told him to stop. This made Hitler feel depressed and he deactivated himself. We call that period World Warp II."

I will be long gone by then and my grandson will be my age. If you have ever read in depth about the fall of Rome, Look very closely where we are in the footsteps and in the same path as Rome. I dearly love this country but, I am also looking as Costa Rico as of now as a alternate place to live. money is cheap, its like being in the U.S., and you can own firearms. g24t

Jim M / G24t..... I Love your twist on Historical Revisionism You are on H*** of a good writer!!! "A nasty German leader named Hitler deactivated six million Jewish people. Three other leaders named Roosevelt,Churchill amd Stalin told him to stop. This made Hitler feel depressed and he deactivated himself. We call that period World Warp II." Unfortunately...this type of BS stuff can happen as young Kids just soak in whatever they see & are taught (witness the HJ Korps) What can we do to stop / modify this trend? a. Take a real 'time involvement' Interest in the 'Kids' in our own lives - like G24t does with his Grandson...Teach them by our example & interests in history. Teach them to respect History - to Collect - to Hunt & Fish... b. Join various Collecting, Hunting, Historical & related organizations ...which stress heritage & historical significance. Seek a way to reach youth... c. Participate in Outreach programs for youth - which stress History ....Air Shows, Local WW2 Museums (no matter how small); July 4th - Nov 11th - Dec 7th Events which recount historical events. d. Volunteer to speak at opportunities which reach youth - such as History Days at school - and show Items from our Collections. e. Leave a small / large portion of your Assets / Collection to a designated Museum - with hand written strict instructions regarding HOW these donations are to be used. Make a difference by your example... I do believe that we can make a difference - but only if we take a pro-active stance. Txs, Dave .....dblmed
