I picked up this unique etched bayonet earlier this year from Wayne.

It is a Waffen Max Weyersburg etch special order from the Robert Klaas Company.

The dedication translates into something like "To My Dear Staff Sergeant Dornhaus in Heartfelt Comradeship, Muller, Senior Pay Master".

Wayne called this 'a one-of-a-kind gift bayonet' and I agree. It is in mint condition with no runner marks on the blade or the etch.

Don't you just love this hobby?

Enjoy,

John

Terry,
Cuz you didn't show interest...Examples like this are not for everybody. Some guys only seem to want to collect within their own interest, anyway I believe I did list it for sale on my web-site. I have another Very Rare find (not like this one though) coming on my website soon.

Guys:

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, I have had the 'bug' for quite a while now.

This one was on Wayne's site for a little while. At first, I wasn't really interested (it wasn't and Eickhorn or a Pack and it wasn't one of those wow etches that make you stand up to look). I talked to Wayne about it and found that his enthusiasm made me look at it again to see how unique it really is.

And, the next thing you know, it was hanging on my wall. Big Grin Big Grin

John:

Does your comment imply some sort of question about the authenticity of this bayonet? Just asking?

johnz unfortunately i know zilch about the ks98s :-( a beautiful piece it is!

i just think it is odd for one soldier to do this for a superior (guys help me here on the rank from that timeframe and feel free to correct me! a paymaster is below the feldwebel..right??..and since you never see this it is "corny" in my opinion..not in a bad way though. again i have no knowledge on these pieces and not sure what percentage of the paymasters monthly pay this piece would of cost him? Anyways hope to open up a bit of discussion :-) great find!
