Yes they are and are also faked extensively.

Thanks for the quick reply. A point of clarification: what I'm asking about is M43s made from the standard Italian late-war grigio-verde uniform cloth, not Italian cammo.

Yes, Same answer applies. There were many pieces made from various captured, adopted.. materials and there are many people who are quite skilled with the sewing machine who put together plenty of postwar caps made of original materials. Each piece needs to be examined carfully before any guess can be made regarding it's authenticity.
