Looks like a decent M3 knife, who is the maker?
The M8A1 scabbard came out later (1950s?) with the addition of the metal tip on the end, where it was found to be a weak point on the fiber scabbards.
These always seemed to be well designed fighting knives.

it is not maker marked it just has USM stamped on the cross guard

on closer inspection its U.S.M 3 most of the 3 is hidden under the blade shoulder
