Hi
Does anybody of You have seen this kind of box before? Is it a period piece? It carries the symbol of 21.Luftwaffen-Felddivision. Can someone tell me something more precise about this unit? 4.fl. I 20 doesn't sound like FELDdivision (at least if fl. means Flotte or Flotille or something like that). Condition is almost mint and workmanship is very good. Value? Unfortunately I have very little knowledge about LW stuff.

Hi Juergen and welcome,,,I don't know if it's period or not, but it looks good to me, a very interesting item.

Welcome to the site Juergen,,,
A nice looking piece!. There is a photo in Formans pg 148 of the exact emblem on the cast iron plack,,also lists it as for 21st Air Force Field Division 1942.
*Do a internet search on '21st Luftwaffe Field Division' a lot of hits and info!
Is that paint or inlaid?? Is there a swastika on the iron cross?

Thanks for the info! It's inlaid with bone and two different types of wood. The inside is covered with light brown leather. There is a swastika in the EK as well as inside in the sheet metal "cigarette holders" (very nice engraving work). Sincerely, Juergen
