At the start of WW1 a huge mobilization camp was opened at VALCARTIER QUEBEC and remained open throughout the war as a staging area. This hat badge was worn by members of the camp staff.

INSIGNIA of the 7th CMR CANADIAN MOUNTED RIFLES HQ in PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE Manitoba so rare only 8 to 12 sets thought to have been made for officers only thus most reference books do not even show pictures of these badges also of note this is the unit BILLY BISHOP first joined before his famous career with the ROYAL FLYING CORPS.

Shoulder titles to the 1st and 2nd CASUALTY CLEARING SECTIONS of the RCMC - ROYAL CANADIAN MEDICAL CORPS. They worn the standard RCMC hat badge and collars. The 1st CCS title is not suposed to exist in the books go figure. The second CCS title is gilt for officer and was known to have been owned by the CO of the unit whos dog tag I have also.

Paul you have a wonderful collection! Several years ago, I aquired several cap badges from an estate. I suspect they are either British or Canadian. Would you be so kind as to help me identify them?
Here is the 1st one.

Hi Paul,
Superb collection. Should the 16th Canadian Scottish not be with a king's crown?
