It's been years since I dabbled in Japanese swords, with the keyword being dabbled. I can remember that at the time, NCO swords were a hard sell at $125. Anyway, I have the chance to buy a NCO sword in average condition- some wear on the hilt paint and some honest wear on the scabbard, but it is dent free. The blade has grayed, but has no nicks, chips, rust or stains. I've seen similar swords at shows priced from $350 - up (which boggles my mind). It's not a Chinese copy. I know where it came from, but the problem is that the serial numbers do not match....they're not even close. I can get it for $175. Is that out of line for a mis-matched piece?
Thanks in advance, Dwight

Thats 90 , these original Nco swords are rising and rising in value $175 is a very good price imo ,perhaps you could knock the seller down to $150 to make it an even better deal .Rob

Rob, Paul, thank you very much for your replies. It sounds like it will be a good wall-hanger.

I don't think mismatched numbers mean that much. At that price I would jump on it. The last one I got rid of about the same condition I sold it for $400.00 Steve

I remember those days quite well. The two i had were in really great shape and cost $75 a pop. I had turned down so many perviously that these two I had to have. Heck, get it at that price! One of mine was mis-matched but no big deal! I'll buy it if you don't want it!
