I had the bottom painted on my 1998 Grady-White Marlin 300 and we are taking it back to it's home marina in Nashville, Tennessee.

Any other boat lovers out there?

We named it "PBR Streetgang" after the river patrol boat in Apocalypse Now. My call sign is "Almighty". Seen the movie...you know who that is.

Our water baby is a 1990 Nimble Nomad Trawler named "Sweet Pea".She was designed by noted sailboat designer Ted Brewer for a small company here in Fla. She is hull #1 and was their show boat that was taken to major boat shows to intice buyers. We purchased her in 1994 and have spent many wonderful days and nights on her. The 1991 Honda 45 hp outboard still purrs like new!!
She sits on a lift outside our home here on Pine Island Fla, ready to be used in a minutes notice...LOL

Tom, that's one neat boat! I never saw one that size with an outboard. Makes a lot of sense for interior room and such.

Mark,
The boat is not really that big, its about 24' at the waterline. The Honda is fitted with a prop for a displacement hull and we cruise comfortably at 6 1/2 kts. And at that speed, the gas consumption is about 1/2 gal an hour.It will push it up to 8 knts if needed and has plenty of power for currents, rough seas, etc.

Is that a guard ring around the prop to protect manatee's? You have a beautiful setting!

Frank (Spock)...come on back over here, we need to play a few more songs and have a beer or two...

Mark.

I must say visiting you was a joy. It added to the fun of Nashville. I am due a trip. All I need do is persuade my good wife to let me disappear for a few days. I will keep you posted. Maybe we could go fishing and fill the back with beers. Big Grin

Mark, it does offer some protection for manatees but its main purpose is to provide extra steering surface and additional prop thrust for low speed steering.
We actually had a manatee swim under the dock last week, it was pretty prop scarred.
Yes, the setting is great for boating. We are a short idle to Pine Island Sound. Its one of the best boating areas on the west coast of Fla in my opinion.
