My name is Tetyana, I'm from Kiev film production house. Now we are shooting Ukrainian-Portuguese feature film "Business class" in Kiev. And we need for shooting german border police uniform of around 1998 and we can't find it in Ukraine. I will be very appreciated if you send me to email some photos of to sue it hereor give me some links maybe...
Thanks a lot!!!!!!

Why don't you try the German embassy? There must be some BGS (or Bundespolizei, as they are now called) people there, and as far as I can tell, the only difference between now and then is the shoulder straps (in 1998, still like the Wehrmacht Beamte type) and the collar tabs (like Wehrmacht). I bet the guys in Kiev do not have the brand-new blue uniform yet.

regards, Karl

Crowback,

The uniform you link to is an East German Volkspolizei uniform, not border police. In East Germany it was the Grenztruppen der DDR who provided border control. In West Germany it was the Bundesgrenzschutz as Karl mentioned. Wrong uniform to answer this question.
