A friend of mine got this cap. In my oppinion it`s no good. I have not had it in my hands yet, only photos. I think this is a reproduction made in the netherlands some years ago. Any comments from you here on the forum?

Inside wiew. Producer: LACO The visor has the correct waffle pattern. The sweath band is dark brown with this black insert between the sweat band and the cap.

Hi from the pictures I would say that you are correct in your assumption. The eagle looks bad and the interior is similiar to types that I have seen previously on reproduction caps. Having said this there is nothing better than a hands on inspection in order to make a final and accurate determination of authenticity. cheers, Ryan S

Mr Brown, A real artillery visor for the Waffen SS is a very rare item and it would fetch considerably more than that sum if it was a real WSS branch-piped visor. I have my doubts but please post images for us. Jerry

I have an artillery officers visor cap that is not textbook , a late war variation inspected by John Casino, but has the characteristics I can not find on the one displayed above. I concur with the others: this visor cap is a fake... I don't know if it is a Janke, but I know it's not real.

I would agree this does not sit right on many accounts - it does appear to have characteristic Janke lining and stitching, insignia clearly wrong, maker's mark (a gilded lily) unknown and rather fanciful, and note skewed front cap seam. Was this offered on a major website??

This cap was offered by a collector. But has been sent back. It was for shure a janke cap.

The split second I saw the picture, in my mind I said 'Oh God, that's no good.'
