Benten, This is the first time I've ever seen this great example which looks a first class and heavy piece. Talk about engraving, this one is so nice it looks almost photographic. Again, I've never seen anything quite like it on a medal or decoration before, great work this. There are a few patriotic pieces that I've only seen one or two of and must assume them to be somewhat rare? I think it's safe to say this one falls into that category. Beautiful wreath design, nice. Bill and Tom , thank you for your reply. When I saw this badge, I was thinking the engraving looks a bit like you see on banknotes. I got this piece from a German friend.
