Picked this one up very cheap. Inside rotted away, but outside still reasonable. LW blue overpainted with dark sand, and decal visible. Is the decal a good one, and is/looks the sand paint (like) a period one? Thanks. BW Roger

dont like the look of that one badly corroded but some of the paint looks new and shiney rusty old helmet spruced up a bit

From the pictures it looks to be a post-war made helmet using some original parts, then was artificially aged.

IMO and i'm not an expert judging from these pics it does not look good at all. The paint does not look right, especially the tan too shiny overall, I don't like The tri-color it looks artifically aged and besides this is an M-40 helmet not a M-35. The rust looks odd, just bad enough but too bad for the look of the paint. it looks artifically aged then disgused in globs of wax. Did some one clear coat it or coat it in wax? The paint looks better just under the tri-color to the rear. Maybe it has a shellac job? But what do I know!
