One of my newer aquisitions. Not very interesting for many 3R edged weapons collectors (looking for elite guard daggers  ) but for me it has his certain attraction for me.

Wotan. Well lets add another great conditioned hirschfänger to your collection, you certainly do come up with the best looking pieces. I hope some time in the future you'll be able to find a good frog for it, they are very tough to find.It's a wonderful example of a dagger that for some unknown reason is not part of most peoples collections, this is a shame, while not the best looking dagger out there they are not the worst either.
I have become fond of these in the last few years and have been picking up variations as and when I can find them, I managed to pick up a Puma marked example at the SOS with an Ivory grip, a very rare variation, a lot more so than army's and lufts.
Well done on a great addition to your wunderbar collection.

Baz69, thank your so much for your kind words. I think the reasons that there is so few interest in adding this kind of dagger to one´s collection are 1.)they are heavily faked and need close and experienced inspection, 2.)if the dagger is period it also could be a once denazified piece with faked badge, 3.) there are very few around with an uncracked grip and 4.)it is not from any "interesting" unit. Neverthelessthis kind of dagger, if period does have his own charm and a must for a "one of all" collector as I am. A very long dagger but nevertheless leight as a feather. If you have one (a nice one) you will never let it go again. You are quite right, up to now this is my only item without the proper hanger. They are difficult to locate. I hope one time it comes by. Until that it stays in a short DJägerschaft hanger wherein he does have plenty of space  . Congrats on your PUMA dagger, perhaps you would like to show it (and your others), please?
