That may be one of the latest repro's from Pakistan and Indonesia? The bullion work is very nice, but the shapes and backing, as pointed out in the previous posts are not up to the standards of the Police of the Third Reich. Just my personal opinion.

Hello

Thanks for your opinions. Fakes maker are more and more skilly and it is very difficult to make the difference when you are not an expert.

Hello,

This is a horribly made eagle, but in my humble opinion quite possibly authentic.

These officer's eagles were made by housewives as a kitchen table business and the quality varies greatly from example to example. I have seen many sloppy officer's eagles. I do NOT see what I look for in identifying a Pakistani eagle. Here is an equally sloppy, but unquestionably authentic eagle.

There are certainly things about this eagle that I DON'T like. The backing is odd as is "machine sewing". In my opinion officer's eagles were always hand sewn, not factory applied. The overall quality is also poor.....but so poor as to discount it totally, I don't believe so.

All that said, it is just my opinion.

Regards,
Bill Unland

After looking at it over and over, Bill maybe right on this one. It is poorly constructed and in addition we are working with not the best photo with blur and glare as these are difficult to photograph. So there is a possibility of being authentic here, although difficult to judge by only photos.

Below is something that was recently sold. It's a test, see what you think before scrolling down tot he reverse photo.

Hi Dave

This eagle seems to be of a close construction as mine. The cloth is quite the same and the material of the HK is the same.
I am not specialist enough to be sure if it is authentic or not !!

Regards
Alain

In fact after looking at them both carefully again I would say both are a NO GOOD.

On the first one consider the cardboard template for the wings, these have seperate compartments for the 3 wings and individually embroidered, but on this one they are not, that is the biggest issue here for me, the silver in the chest is wrong, the beading on the inner wings is wrong, the feet are absolutly abbismal, every detail of this first eagle is terrible.

The second one is a little better, at least they have got the seperate compartments individually embroiderd. Now take a look at Bills eagle and you will see in this that the wings are individiually embroidered BUT the embroidery has been carfuly executed so that all the embroidered silver wire goes in the same direction, but on the second eagle the embroidery in the seperate compartments are all in different directions, a big NO, also the wire used is a lot thicker than on Bills eagle. Again, the chest is wrong, the head is wrong and there is TOO much swastika, it is huge compaired to normal swas. The inner oakleaves are too oval, and ther is no tie to speak of at the bottom. In the embroidery there is far too much at the bottom of this eagle, seems out of proportion.

I would not have these to eagles in my collection

i agree with you Mr. Unland, however quality is quality even when done by different hands and in different styles,,and the first two don't possess the quality that i would like see as in the third example exhibits,.,,

Those are both nasty looking eagles, especially the first one. There is no shape at all to the head or beak. These were used by the POLICE, not the sanitation crews. Someone in China is having a good laugh at this stuff as they make it up...in my opinion.

we are discussing these Mr. Unlund,,since there is no overwhelming concensus either way, they may be good or they may be bad,,,i dont like them for reasons stated, you may like them for your reasons stated,so all we have are agreements to disagree,,isnt that promoting discussion???

Bill 1st and 3rd eagle are bad, not the second as stated

When I say second I mean the one that Dave posted Bills eagle is a GOOD EAGLE

The attention to detail shows the quality of the real deal versus the 'lumpy' look of the eagle heads on the others, eyes, etc...

Nice one Dave.
