I picked this up a couple of years ago. Have'nt seen too many. Are they considered scarce? The visor is leather. Value? Opinions Welcome!

Hi these caps are for entry grade NCO customs officials, many of whom were pressed into service in Normandy and the Netherlands. One will encounter many period photos of captured Germans from these campaigns wearing similiar caps. Your cap has a high degree of mothing to the piping and some general wear. A cap in this condition would have a value of approximately $250.00. They are not considered rare and are not widely collected. Having said this matching insignia(especially the eagle) can be difficult to obtain when one is needed to restore a cap. Mint examples of these caps are between $400.00 and $600.00 at the high point.cheers, Ryan
