Here is a recently, out of the woodwork, acquired A Winger Jr Luftwaffe dagger.

The front side of the grip is a nice shade of yellow:

The back side is a very attractive orange. At this point I expect you're thinking an unusual Trolon example:

However that isn't the case as this photo shows. The core of the grip is wood.

Very interesting example, Jim. Still within the "range" of ivory "look" and definitely the first time I've ever encountered a hollow-grip in anything but a lighter cream or white. Neat piece!

Sometimes a light yellow will be seen on a wood core Navy grip-late Eickhorns especially-but I have never seen anything like this. Really rare.

Houston:
The surface material is also way too thick to be celluloid which is what typically is covering a wooden core!

Thanks Tom:
It's hard for me to believe how much GDC has degenerated into a "For Sale" Forum and little else. This to me is the reason so little in new material is being posted here. This grip IMO is new, unique and something worthy of discussion but that's not happening. A sad state of affairs on a once premier forum.

That's really interesting Jim! Any chance of some pics on a neutral background so we can see the colour changes more clearly? Very nice!

Regards
Russell

Personally I think that the red background does slightly enhance the imaginagion of yellow.
In the last photograph we can see that under the grip ring the more witish look has remained. I also do not think that the outer celluloid material is thicker than "normal", I think it is only the perspective (thickness + part where the fripring is attached - I hope I could express right and understandable) which let it look thicker.
But nevertheless I think the grip really has a more yellowish look like the cream color "normally" seen on this kind of grip.

Wotan etal:
The true color of this grip goes from yellow on one side to orange on the other. I personally have never seen celluloid in a color other than off white. The photos I've provided have,if anything,de=emphasized the colors. He're is another view with the pommel removed showing where a sliver of the surface material is missing. I think it's apparent that this material is much thicker than the ordinary celluloid.

Jim
Why would this grip be any different as far as color change then a navy? I have several wood cored navys that are a yellowish color.
