Opinions Please:
The father of a friend has had this *** compass for quite a while. He was told that it is for a Zero. But He thinks it belonged to a ship. It has a navy marking. Zero's were used by Army & Navy. But would they have marked the instruments differently? Here are a few pics. Maybe someone can translate the tag. Your help would greatly appreciated.

This is a standard Japanese naval aircraft floating compass. It was used in the Zero, but also other aircraft. If it's for sale, please let me know, as I have a friend looking for one now.
