Seller guaranties this being an original but it rings some bells for me.The handle is sleek, the blade isn't smooth, the marks look weird.Say a word.

The scabbard appears to be post-war due to the lip on the throat and the new looking leather hanger. The blade is interesting and looks original but the RZM number is attributed to either M7/12 WMW - Waffenfabrik Max Weyersberg, Solingen or M7/12 Carl Robert Kaldenbach. There are examples of maker marked blades with another company's RZM number. The grips look to be made of wood and would not have been applied when the knife was made. Probably no way of knowing when they were attached but likely replaced broken plates at some time. The hilt looks to be made of zinc and has lost the plating.

The seller has obviously never seen an original. Or has he? Roll Eyes

Regards
Russell
