Hi
The Mercedes- Benz of the SS daggers!
What are the differents between a Böker and other SS dagger producers?

All of the early makers are comparable as far as quality of workmanship goes. Boker is no better or worse than any other. However they have some traits that make them stand out from the others. They are known for the tight fit of the grip, dark burnishing to the motto and distinctive upturned crossguards. Combine those characteristics with the attractive maker mark and that is why collectors put Bokers at the top of the heap. As fas as quality of materials goes, I have never seen a Boker with a real ebony grip. Of the EM SS's that I own only one has what I believe to be an ebony grip and that is a 121/34.

Not every Boker has the upturned lower crossguards. Here is an early ground Rohm with straight crossguards.

the one you are referring to doesnt look quite as good as this from the pics, and the inscription is "dished out" due to over buffing..

whereas this one has a nice crisp inscription.
