Hello What would a fair market value be for a 2nd Model Navy with lightning bolt scabbard and portepee be? It is an Eickhorn (squirrel looking over shoulder). Thanks, Ron

It looks as there is an price-tag at the scabbard...
was the scabbard painted black in past?

Not ure what you guys are talking about on the scabbard? It is not painted in any way. I took the pics without flash so there would not be any glare. That is why it appears dark. Do you want to see one with the flash? That is not a price tag, but my tag to identifies what dagger it goes to and pertinent info for my records. Ron

I think $850 would be a good ball park figure for this nice late war Navy Dagger. www.simplydaggers.co.uk

Bob ,From what I can see if there are no dents and all else is as nice as the pics show I would say your offer of $1200 is most fair. At $850 I will bring my ford club wagon and fill up.

first I had thought the dagger was painted black in period. (I have seen such daggers) But in this case it was only the photo who had darkened the ligning bolts..
but I think the scabbard was polished in past.
the condition at all seems to be good I see this dagger at 1000-1100 USD.. (about 750Euro)
