Can anyone tell me if this manufacturer made HJ daggers during or before the war? I've seen a H.J. Dagger for sale that was advertised as "possibly post-war" on ebay by this maker...if Artur Melcher made H.J daggers before, during AND after WW2, what design features , marks etc would differentiate daggers made during the third reich, as opposed to ones manufactured after the war? (other than the red flags that mark export items like"made in germany" etc.?
Just a query for the experts in this field, as I'm a novice with this subject area (apart from what I learn from the information on this site!)

The one on ebay was definitely postwar. I did not keep a picture (nor do I know how), my son flagged it for me and I passed. Grips were postwar pattern, rivets had the flattened out appearence on reverse, scabbard was bad etc. If I remember right a closeup was obtained of the ricasso and most of the "Germany" had been polished out. Never seen a pre May 45 example by this maker, but then again I had never seen one by Herman Schneider until a month ago. Russ

Thanks RussN! Much appreciated. I noticed in the SA & NSKK Dagger Forum, that Artur Melcher made SA daggers, so I thought maybe ARMESO made HJ knives during the war also..pure speculation on my part. Thanks RussN for the advice. P.S., was this the "H.J" you saw on ebay?

Another pic.. I bought it anyway, it wasn't too expensive,$117.00 Aussie dollars. When it arrives, I'll post a few better pics.
