Hello folks,

I have been collecting a RARE and almost totally unheard of hand forged US Military fighting knife called a Van Adstine double edge daggger. It was made from WWI to WWII by a man here in Wisconsin by the name of Robert Van Adestine.

For the last 3 years I found examples of these RARE knives and I now have the largest collection of Van Adestine knives in the country. .

If you wish to learn more about these RARE knives and see more pictures, visit my web site.

Robert Van Adestine also made hunting knives.

I believe there are still hundreds of Van Adestine knives out there to be discovered because he made them continuously for 65 years from 1895 until 1959. He lived and made hand forged knives at the very same time as William Scagel.

They look like they can do some real damage..

"US Military fighting knife" were they ever a issued piece?. How were they sold? Word of mouth? Catalog? Were they always marked?

How about a few shots of the fighting knives,,,thanks ,G.

they were purchased privately - not issued - through catalog sales at vl&a in chicago.

this is the fighting knife - 8" blade - ALWAYS marked with the name AJVANADrSTIN on the left side.
