Hello,

today i want show you a very rarity Gau Stamp SA for Sachsen on a crossguard from a Haenel SA Dagger from my collection.
I never see befor a Stamp with a big "A".
I meet Mr. Thomas Johnson in Stuttgart at the IWB Show 2007, and show him the Dagger.
And he sayed the same, its a very rarity Gau stamp on a nice Dagger.

Updated ! Thanks everyone.

Carl Haas ??

Also, I think that SA in the above photo may not be a gau mark.

Hello Dave, had one to with the "SA" markings
i thought this was a gau mark.
I know John Merling have several with these markings.
Why do you think it´s not gau marks?
Best, Hakan

Dave, on the Haenels, I've seen that variant larger SA Gau mark on quite a few. Just on Haenels though.

Dave it´s the same size on the gau mark as on John´s fantastic Haenel !
Looks a little bigger in that closeup and angle on my photo though!

Usually the Sa mark has a small letter a instead of a capital letter A. The far left one is SA, the one next to it is Sa.

Here's a picture, I'll have to get a close up at home.

I noticed that there is a C. Linder listed with out a Gau. Here is my C. Linder Solingen Merscheid with an Ns Gau.

I tried to upload but got a "disk Quota exceeded" message. To make matters worse when I hit the "go back" button, all my previously typed text was gone. That always happens!

Any idea for the premium this adds to the dagger price for the rarity?

I hope others respond to this question.

To me, the major factors in the value of an SA dagger are the maker's mark and the condition. The gau marks is secondary, but that is me. If the MM and condition were what I was looking for, then a rare gau mark would would add a bit to my offer.

As I said, other collectors see things from different angles and I hope they speak up.
