This Hirschfaenger was found on a roof when restoring a Castle which belonged to the famous von Alten family in Hannover in Germany. The Hirschfaenger was together with a wheellock gun, dated year 1677, and a powder horn. As I can see the Hirschfaenger is from the beginning of 1620? (the inscription on the blade) and the blade is soft and is flexible (can be bowed)! I have promised to help a von Alten relative to sell the three items but I have no idea about the value of the Hirschfaenger. Can you help me? More pictures can be posted!
