Well we have a decent thread going on SA sport badges lets see some HJ sport badges, I know there are several different ones out there so lets see them. Anyone have a HJ sport badge from Yougoslavia? I was reading one of my reference books the other day and they had a variation of the german badge.

From my files. It's not at hand so I can't show the reverse. My notes show it as RZM M1/101 numbered 14***. It is missing the pin. Any one got a spare pin laying about. --dj--Joe

I must be having more senior moments than normal these days. Seeing your badge Joe reminded me that my wife bought me one for Christmas..... Excuse the glare from the scanner. Cheers Don

Last one. They all seem to be made by the same maker M1/101. Has anyone seen another maker?

Some interesting badges there Raymond. What are your views regarding the RZM markings being impressed into the reverse as opposed to raised?
Cheers Don

Don, I never gave it that much thought. I would guess either this maker (M1/35) stamped them in or this was done early on and then found out it was easier to cast it it in,so they changed to that type. Pure speculation though. have you seen other makers stamp their mm? Which one? Have you seen this maker, or others that stamped their mm, with the cast in type? this has the makings of a very inforative thread so if you have one of these please post photos of it.

Here's the back of a NSV member badge made by M1/35 with the RZM logo and license number raised.
I'm not fond of stamped RZM marks on anything other than buttons and belt buckles.

I agree with one exception, Deschler seem to have made a habit of it. All of their NSKOV badges have either their name or RZM mark impressed/stamped. Also some examples of their early Party badges & HJ badges can be found with either their name or Transitional RZM mark impressed/stamped into the reverse. Other than Deschler I would tend to avoid impressed marks. Cheers Don

Hallo Don,
where does that line come from: 'Much that once was' etc. It really moves me. Is it from the bible, that explains it: I live in a barren wasteland without God. I'm not ironic, please let me know where it comes from.
Best regards, Otto Carl

Otto,
I'm afraid it's not from anything a holy as the bible. It's a line spoken in the opening moments of the film "Lord of the Rings" although the words are not used in the original book.
Cheers Don
