Was the Rohm dagger a purely presentation item or did the recipients have to cough up? Regards JOHN

From my readings, I gather it was a gratis presentation to the senior SA and SS members. If anyone has other info, I would like to know about it.

Dave is right. Honorary Rohm daggers were awarded by OSAF free of charge. Order of 3rd Feb 1934 (OSAF I No. 1444/34)
"in May 1934 these early honorary daggers ("awarded in Dec 33 and January 34") were recalled because of their bad quality (OSAF P No. 9162/34 5 May 1934 re. Umtausch der ehrendolche..." Dr Martin Schuster "SA Organization and Daggers in Gruppe Nordmark" pp. 6-7)
