My grandfather bought a luftwaffe sword back from the war (liberated from a recaptured French Airfield).
The scabbard is etched with the marking LehrStaffel(See).
From my limited research I think it is some kind of flight school marking. Does anybody have any idea what it is?

The Luftwaffe had a few squadrons based on the Baltic and North Sea. The had Reconaissance and Fighter Groups and a Flight School. Lehrstaffel See was based in Schleswig. Here is a link to a German Website. I know bablefish is what it is, but you could run it through there... http://www.germanseaflight.my-place.us/seeluft-2.html
