Note the subtle differences in the etch including its position on the blade and the way the Chevrons (<<) at the end of the etch are joined to the edge in the first etch, but separated on the second etch. Is this significant? Any comments?

Heres another for comparison, currently on Johnson's site. The etch also shows a slight variation (one chevron is joined, the other is not and the position of the blade resembles the second example here). Its is interesting to note that identical etches may have been applied slightly different to the blade making each etch quite unique.

Take a look at the swedge in the great close-up provided. Notice the continued pattern just inside the swedge portion. Reproductions very seldom have this kind of continuation showing fine detail. Very nice pictures...
