What leads you to believe this is a ground Rohm?

Hi what is the number?

Do you know if the owner is on the SS officers list?

Maybe it's not a Rohm and the guy that sold it got it wrong?

Too hard to tell from the picture on the blade above. Maybe somebody's tried cleaning it, (roughly), making it look like it could have been ground?

Besides that... nice looking dagger. I wouldn't mind having an SS with a traceable number on it.

Is it possible that Boker produced some Rohm
SS daggers with the large trade mark?

This is the second time recently that a large trademark Boker has been attributed to be a Rohm. Bill Shea has one on his website:

http://www.therupturedduck.com/WebPages/Edged/e444.htm

Could it be that there were some large maker mark Boker Rohms? We know that there were large maker marked Eickhorns.

I find all of this very odd.First we don't except MM chained daggers which we now know were originals as there owners kept them and bought a chained scabbard or the vet may have switch daggers because it looked better.
Now we are going to except the wrong MM for a Rohm in a chained scabbard.I remember standing at a dealers table years ago and listening to him say only buy a non-maker mark chained dagger, this way you never have to explain it.I would like to hear from some of the more experienced people on this one and the dagger posted.I am making reference to the dagger on the dealers site.BTW nice dagger and looks like a nice anodized scabbard.I do hope it works out to be something different as new things are aways turning out. Cool

Never heard of a Rohm with this maker mark.
I don't buy it, but I'm not close minded either. Show me a Full Rohm Boker or even a partial with this maker mark and maybe we can consider it. Till then this will not be accepted.
As far as Bill selling his as a ground Rohm, well nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes and Bill is a straight up guy. I don't believe he ever knowingly would mislead anyone. I just happen to think on this rare occasion he's wrong.

Roll EyesI agree 100% with Paul, I personally DON'T think Rohm SS Bokers were ever etched with the large trade mark. (Sorry Bill don't accept your Boker is a Ground Rohm.) I have a MM, S/No Rohm 33 to an traced officer in a 36 scabbard, came from Tom Wittmann in the 1970s more years ago than I would care to remember, Tom said this was VET aquired. I have seen many 33 daggers in 36 scabbards on both Toms web sites over the years. No big deal here. Wink
