Hello,

Opinion about this one please?
Never see a Rohm with this maker mark...

Thanks.

My opinion, I do not like the inscription. Pretty grip.

Thanks sir.
Not easy to see for someone who never had one in hand...

Is it possible to post 1 good photo of an original Rohm motto?
Thanks.

Here are 3 great close up pics of a full Rohm.
Pictures were taken without Serge's (aka: Wagner) permission but since we're friends, I'm sure he doesn't mind. Big Grin Wink

As we can see, it ain't even close, the fake Rohm is light years away from an original.
Look at the letter "T" at the end of the name Ernst, biggest red flag.

Thanks a lot for explication.
Clear now.
The "T" on this one seems to be better...

Whoa, hang on. Maybe it's just the photos, but I see a couple of things I don't like with the last one. Take another look.

Pat: I have seen that fake you were refering to 100 times. As you know, takes about 1 seconds to identify it.

What is disturbing, is that one of the big dealer name ( and most respected expert ) has the same one listed on his web site at this moment. Roll Eyes

I don't like the second one either but would like better photos. But looks "bad" from here. Frown

Hey Pat, I don't mind. Wink
If one really studies just the "Ernst Rohm" from verified authentic examples you can tell easily on 95% of the older fakes. However some of the newer Czech fakes are getting a lot better...but you can still tell.
A few will require a "hands-On".

I have had several talks over the years with, I think, the expert you are refering to. He actually believes those examples are real, seriously.

Sad, very sad Frown and I hope that this particular example that we're talking about, will never end up in a reference book that will claim otherwise.

Why do the "experts" and the web sites remain anonymous ???

The answer to your question is that there are some battles you want to fight and others you don't. Or, maybe a better way of saying it is that you don't want to burn too many bridges... everyone knows everyone and there are alliances that are tough to beat if you want to stay in this hobby. I am sure that you know all of this.

My perspective. I prefer to deal with any problems that have arisen directly and privately. Much better all around, methinks.

Gailen;

I haven't and won't try the other way. I have seen too many people flame out and get totally destroyed or ****ed off. Life is way too short.

And, we are all human. We all make mistakes and many times find it very hard to admit to these mistakes.

However, for the crooks of this world, the Pawel Novaks, there must be no tolerance and no hold back.

It would be very nice to see a reference to witch maker mfg. Rohm daggers. Were there slight etching deviations? From my tooling background the etching process can very but only a little.

Nice Blade, IMO the inscription is not pre 1945. It is a sad thing that someone has taken a nice blade and ruined it with a fake etching. JMO
