A local antique dealer has a machete I haven't seen the like of:
Blade (standard long machete length) is "Collins/Legitimus" marked with the anvil logo, and finish is grey phosphate looking with a nubbly or slightly "sandy" texture.
The grip is light color wood (pine?) but I don't recall the number of rivets. Scabbard is tooled leather with sort of South of the Border design, similar to what I've seen on some short Collin models from maybe the '20s-'30s.
Will make pix if anyone thinks he can shed light on it....
Thanks heaps!

sorry!
my mistake - went by again today and I'd confused two 'chetes: one was a '45 marked Collins with crown logo (no anvil), wood grip and canvas maker and-date marked scabb,;
the other was a span-am or later philippines or maybe Mexican model with the leather scabb and (crude) horn grip.
