As some of you might know Revell has released a while ago their 1/72 U-Boot. It's a great kit but needs some serious extra detail to give more historical accuracy.
When I have some spare time from work I work on this model... now more than a year: patience is a virtue. The kit depicted below is not glued yet, only the conning tower and some other small parts.

Originally all the floodholes of the kit are closes so I had to sand them open. This was a tremendous tedious work and time consuming to say the least, but the effect is stunning and historical correct.

Fred sent me these a few days ago and must admit that they were a strong factor in the creation of this new Forum !

What a great model ! Like WWII, I cannot wait to see the finished boat.

Time and effort well spent! The completed project should be a labour of joy to be proud of!
Standing bye to see the end results. Wink

Very nice kit, I would love to move on to ships U-boats etc but 1:72 just a wee bit small for me but and extreamly nice boat.
The best thing is the attention to detail!
Super.

Hi Si, the Boot is not so small as you might expect: about 100 cm long.

Thanks for the great comments... Smile I am afraid you all have to wait a while. I think it will take me a while before finishing. I will post pictures as I progress.

Again, thanks a lot!

Good looking build. Kinda' makes me want to actually build mine. Long-term projects, such as this one, are quite gratifying when completed.
