Hello All:

This is supposed to be a postal knot attached to a postal KS98. I am posting the KS98 along with a postal marked K98 in the bayonet forum.

What is your opinion on the knot?

John,

Looks good, almost too good. There are modern reproductions floating around on Eban & with some sellers, I believe they're Paki made. Not saying yours is bad, just that the overall lack of wear would make me a little skeptical in a general sense.

I will say it's not original to the frog & must have been added at a later time as it doesn't appear sealed to the heat crazed frog. Bear in mind I don't know enough about these specific knots. These are just general observations with a healthy & modern sense of skepticism. I do know Ron W. had a similarly conditioned knot (& bayonet) a year or two ago.

The knot was purchased by the previous owner as unissued and mounted on the bayonet.

Thanks for your comments.

John
