Is this as a bad HJ?
This is on sale for $2000+.
There is a motto and RZM but no maker's mark. Thought the transitional pieces had a maker's mark?
The RZM marks looks like it has been marked with a laser which was not focused correctly.

Very interesting, this is one with the stamped ink makers mark, typical for Waffenfabrik Max Weyersberg.
First 1938 with motto that I see, I wonder if the motto is etched or also stamped ink?
Would like to see the grip and the scabbard.
Best greetings,
Herman

Thank you for the extra pictures, Scott!
This WMW 1938 HJ knife appears to be a fine original.
Would like to know how the motto was applied: classic etching or ink stamped (I see no depth in it on pic1) like the maker mark?
Best greetings,
Herman

Herman i guess this one has been ink stamped as the motto & makers RZM# looks very shallow with no depth. Regards Scott.

Thanks for your comments.
This is the first time I have seen this type of HJ with the ink stamp.
Seems there are a few unique features to this example...

I would love to know if there is any depth to the etch. ie can you "feel" it with your fingernail. Paul

Paul this is for sale on a dealers site over here in the UK, i,m pretty sure there will be no depth to the RZM# or motto as it looks Ink stamped on the surface.this might explain why we see many hjs with no markings at all as they could have been Ink stamped as well which simply wares/fades away with use. Regards Scott.
