Gentlemen,

Just received this Pickelhaube yesterday and it is the nicest one I've seen in a long time.
Typical Officer M1871/99 Prussian Infantry pickelhaube.

The Wappen front plate is just stunning.
The Imperial Prussian eagle's frosted gilt really glows under the light.
A real treat for the eyes.

Nice Picks...These thing in that condition are even harder to find then super conditioned daggers.

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. And remember the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

"Branching out !" hi, hi, hi. Yes, just a bit. Razz
I pretty much have all the badges and daggers that I ever dreamed of getting.
Since I'm no type collector, I must find something else to collect.
I think the Pickelhaubes are a fascinating world on their own.
Though quite "unpopular" as compared to WWII German helmets, their crafmanship are unsurpassed by anything that was made during the Third Reich era.
If it only had a "swaz", these would be the hottest collectible on the market. Wink

Pat,

Nothing typical about that one and a super nice example. I like these myself, even though I own only one, but would like to get more. Great catch. RE: Let's See Your Favorite Lid

Woaaah, fantastic Pickelhaube Mikee and very rare too.
I think that they are very addictive and I would also like to get a few examples.
Would also love to get the proper sword for it, a Prussian M89 Infantry.
