Framed plaque 27" x 18"...nickled 3D ship is about 15" long.... Can anyone ID the ship class for research ?????

Lou, what do you think the sail like thing is behind the ship? It's like it was made to commemorate the leap from sail to steam powered engines with all the smoke roaring out of the smokestacks. I don't follow this stuff but that is an interesting example. I hope you do get some answers on what it may actually be. Mark

Have been searching for info since my first post... For those with interest...the plaque is dated 1899 and signed but I can't make out the artists name yet.... the vessel is the battleship Kaiser Freidrich III...Launched in 1899 and scrapped in 1920... No action in WW1 as far as I've found...the beat goes on..................
