I saw this in a museum in Charleston. A stein with a jet - looks like a Shooting Star - on top.

did you by any chance see if it was a pilots...because from the top I can see it was a supply unit...a very nice stein...I seen this American Unit stein go clear up to Brigadier General...often Colonels or field grade officers...the german steins were almost always for lower grade enlisted men...seldom higher than buck sargent...your SteinMeister

Roland, It was on display at the American Military Museum in Charleston SC. http://www.americanmilitarymuseum.org/I cannot tell you more as I did not ask. Here is the full display. Give them a call. The guy in charge knows everything about all displays! Dave
