It was brought to my attension by a friend and forum member that my previous post might have been offensive. I realized it was a no no when I saw the posting had ***. But I could not edit the title so i let it alone. I see that no one has commented on the compass that I posted. So it's either no one has a clue or I offended someone or all.
I would just like to offer my apologies. I in no shape or form did I mean to offend anyone. I should have used better judgement

Sincerely, John

Ultra,

I looked at that compass you posted thinking it would be a normal pocket one but it seems to be something from a boat or plane and is (?) electrically powered. Like me, I suspect that most viewers were baffled.

John, been on a business trip & away from computer. Thanks for correcting your post. I prefer all our posters to take the extra 2.5 seconds & write "Japanese" as the three letter abreviation is offensive to some especially without the "." !Your guage is a Japanese navy aviation compass. Used in larger aircraft & NOT from a zero or single seater. We Japanese collectors always joke that EVERYTHING airplane related is always from a zero! Send me an email if it's for sale.

Johnny, they utilized same guages in numerous different planes. Next to impossible to narrow it down. Thanks for keeping me in mind.
