Hi All:

Came across this receipt dated during June 1934 in regards to SS honor daggers for SS Standarte 41 in Bayreuth. Wonder what was being done for .25 RM?

Closest SS Mann whose number I have found to that of the dienstdolche numbered 74 519 is 74 520....oh so close!

Thanks for your help!

First I thought that this document looks like an invoice to the "SS Sturmbann III/41" of the "41st SS Standarte" for engraving numbers into 32 honor daggers and 1 (regular) dagger. Each honor dagger engraving costed 0.25 Reichsmark (R.M.). So 32 x 0.25 = 8 Reichsmark plus 0.25 for the single dagger makes a total of 8.25 Reichsmark.

But looking at the end of the document I assume its an order signed by the "Scharfhrer", as there is a due date mentioned below his signature ("Termin 26.6.34", which means due date June 26, 1934). This due date is 12 days after the date at the beginning of the document (Bayreuth 14. Juni 34), when this order was obviously written.

So my assumption is that it is an order to somebody to engrave the 32 honor daggers and the single dagger for this particular price until the due date.

Thats roughly how I read it.
By "Honor dagger" I presume they mean Himmler??
Too late for Rohm EekHe was gone already.
My ground Rohm is from a later Fhr of 41.
Erich Buchmann.
Nice one Ross.Keep looking.

I would imagine they were Rohm daggers since the Purge didn't begin until 30 June and Rohm wasn't executed until 2 July.

Yes you are right Dwight.
I was considering he was already
on the s*** list for weeks prior. But then again
they worked by the rules so they were probably
still putting them out for "marking".I presume the "engraving " was the owners number??
Cheers.
