I think the Ebay Sharpshooters ring I post here below is a molded fantasy ring.

The ring took my attention because of the band sides I have exact sides on the signet ring here depicted too. Is the front molded from a Luftwaffe bomber sign? Is the band an origianal part? What is your opinion about how they made this ring?

Cheers,
Benten

Hi

I also think its a pure fantasy ring. Here in germany in the last years a lot of these rings go around. All are the same pattern - you could think all came from the same manufacturer. completly molded - no high quality/workmanship.
usually they are sold as "high quality collectors copie" under the names "Scharfschtzen-/Beobacher- or Aufklrer-Ring"
Its the Aufklrer-Sign.
I never have seen once of these rings where I myself thought its an original.

Benten, instead of just making a bomber ring they use an already known band [like yours] get that in wax then add what ever they'd like to the front.. A little difficult for us but easy to do for the craftsperson.
Its then 'investment' cast and that known legit band now has familiar front piece and the combination is enough to fool some of the beginning collectors..Some are done very very well...,G.
