My family has a number of German beer steins. Some of them my father brought back from WWII and some he purchased on many trips he made back to Germany over the years. Some may have even been bought here in the US from other collectors. We have absolutely no idea about any of them.
We would be so very grateful for someone's knowledgable assistance. I have many more photos to help identify this Stein and I would be happy to email them to you directly.

It appears to be an early Imperial Regimental stein from the 16th Bavarian Infantry Regiment. It appears to be genuine from the picture. It probably dates from 1900 to possibly 1905. Earlier steins had a distinctive 'foot' as this one does. More comments can be made from additional pictures.
