Over the river and up the mountain , through the long tunnels following the trail of the snake to the condemned tower on the hill--for the last time --never to return --trying to avoid the traps and the evil trolls ( very few Cool) that lurk there to find that long lost sleeping treasure. If lost , follow the frog.

MAX SHOW SEMINARS:
1. Glenn Sweeting: German Conquest of Sevastopol
2. Kenneth Alford: Update on his works: "Civil War Museum Treasures" and "Spoils of the World War II", "Great Treasure Stories of World War II" and "Nazi Millionaires"
3. Round Table Discussion of Nazi Daggers with Frederick J. Stephens, Tom Johnson, Tom Wittmann and others.

You all need to submit questions for the Round Table Discussion concerning German Daggers that have been talked about over the past year on this site and others so I can have them ready to ask at the discussion. We can lay to rest all the problems with the RAD "Fat Man", Water Protection Police, Sea Customs and others that have dominated these areas of discussion with Frederick.

Houston, it is not fully decided as of yet. So far it is Tom Johnson, Tom Wittmann, Gailen David, Frederick Stephens. I will be the moderator.

You can't see it all in one day. BUT, if it has to be one day, pay the membership and go in on Thursday.

Now that the US Economy is officially in the Toilet thanks to AIG and the BIG Bailout....anyone want to make any predictions on the show?....Our Economy has the world watching and I think everyone is putting their cash away...and NOT in anything but cash and precious metals.

Yes but they and the Chinese wont spend anything if it looks like we will hit the skids...This 700 BILLION deal if passed will make things shaky for quite some time.

RUSSIANS also by GOLD.

,,,the last few local shows here in the northeast that's all I've been hearing.. Dealers actually say out loud,,'I'm raising all my prices for the MAX for the Russians',,or 'I'm doubling the price on my common stuff/small items that doesn't normally sell',,'bumping up my dagger prices' etc...

Well, let me tell you something,,the 'Russians' are stupid,,and they'll only take your bull**** for so long. They are also having a money crises in East Europe. The cash hasn't been flowing the last year like its been. They are hunkering down, conserving at the moment,,many have stopped collecting and/or moved on to something else...

Not pleasant but,,I hope all those who's raised prices ,turned down good fair offers for pieces here in the US in favor of squeezing the East Europeans,,,I hope you all have the worst show ever.

Well I agree with that...Its about time something has changed with the price structure that dealers seem to Love playing with. The RUSSIANS are into it for one reason and that is to MAKE MONEY....I say sales will be of but Most dealers will report back with "BEST SHOW EVER" because anything else would be contrary to thier own best interest.

It should be an interesting show and full of surprises.
I suspect that many private collectors will be attending the show and selling off their collection due to the US economy crisis.

Concerning those dealers that willingly inflate their prices just for the Max show, I find it pathetic and immoral. Roll Eyes

Shame on you ! Razz

Well, I just realised that I'm now at 4999 posts. Big Grin
My next post will be important. Wink

With the state of the US economy and now the world economy i say sales will be way off.But dealer prices will be as high as ever. If things keep going downhill in several months there will be a ton of bargains. I say sit on your cash for now if the stock market hasn't cleaned you out. My portfolio has dropped 6 digits.Oh well they say its only on paper.

regards, Bill

I think with the state of the economy my guess is that sales will be off this year. I plan to spend a lot less this year. YIKES!

That was GREAT to see the Posts Back to Back.Congrats on 5K....You have been a real warhorse around here.

700 Points and that is just the US markets...watch the Nikei Early this morning and the Euro markets will also react quite harshly. They say the US MAY lose up to 2500 before weeks end and honestly its really just a correction of a way over inflated market.

I dont think anyone here will be desperate enough to have to sell their collections and I think most will just hold tight and when things loosen up back to the shows but at a SEVERLY reduced price.

Tough to say, I don't see the prices on TR goods dropping that much. After all, if the $ tanks and the SHTF, what would you rather have, a fist full of hyper inflated green or a SA blade ?
Historical military/political items are tangible, they have always been worth something and always will.
A $ is just backed up by faith in government and nothing more.

That said, if things go further downhill theres bound to be less collecting buying in the short term due to disposable incomes running dry, that'll drop the prices down a bit, but not by much.
Maybe we'll be reduced to bartering blades for bread - 4 loafs of Wonder for a chained SS, anyone ?
