I am a little surprised at this one frankly. This is a knowledgeable seller. The fact he decided not to disclose this is a rebuilt dagger with what looks like replacement grips (badly done) and a buffed out and re plated dagger.
The sad part is, it was only a couple of years ago you could get one of these for only $400.
Sorry to see this seller go this way.

IT IS NOT MY INTENTION TO BE JUDGE OF ANYONE. BUT IN THESE DAYS I HAVE SEEN MORE THAN A COUPLE OF FAKES/ASSEMBLED (OR IN ANYCASE NOT ENOUGH DETAILED IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION) ITALIAN DAGGERS SOLD BY ITALIAN SELLERS. AND I AGREE WITH YOU JIM: BOTH THESE SELLER ARE FRIEND OF MINE AND I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED (AND SAD ALSO, AS YOU CORRECTLY SPELLED JIM), IN WATCHING THEIR NAMES ON THOSE AUCTIONS. I KNOW ONE OF THEM SOMETIME COME HERE ON GDC AND I HOPE HE WILL UNDERSTAND THESE MY FEW WORDS. I DON'T KNOW WHY AND I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHY, BUT....YES, SAD THING. SORRY FOR ALL, M.

Vary Graciouse of you Doctor.
I would like to clarify that I have done a good deal of business with Italian collectors both in the US and Italy and always found my direct dealings to be quite honorable.
I think there might be something about the Ebay that affects people.
In any case, stay away from this one, even at that price.
