Hi, I am an army contractor working in Iraq. I came across this knife at one of the local shops that sells antiques, collectibles and just plain old stuff. I am trying to verify if this is an original. The knife blade is etched in rune script Original Bowie Knife on the top of the blade running lengthwise. Running across the blade just under the fingerguard is engraved a picture and the name Othello Solingen Germany. On the other side of the blade running across just under the fingerguard is Anton Wingen JR Solingen Germany. Blade is mirror polished 7 1/4" length, wood 3 finger grip handle, total knife length 12". Is this a WWII era knife or later? Is is real? I appreciate any information or resources you can provide. Thanks JanL2048

Looks post-war with the pouch for the whet-stone. This plus the 'Germany' means post-war, probably 80's.
If you want to criticise someone first walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when they come after you, you'll be a mile ahead and they'll be barefoot.

Thank you for the information Terry. I was reading some information about Anton Wingen JR and the Factory. It closed 20 years ago when he retired and no one took over. Thanks again. I will start checking the collectors books!
