Dear Joe,

Unfortunately, these are the same pattern as that shown here. As the Wasserschutzpolizei NEVER had named eagles, and NO police branch ever named their eagles BELOW the eagle itself, these are obviously fantasy eagles not produced during the TR period.

As the two you show are of exactly the same pattern and manufacture it stands to reason that they too were made by the same person that made the fantasy eagle, rather than a period manufacturer.

In other words, if one example of a given pattern can be shown conclusively to be fake, we can reasonably conclude that all other copies of that same pattern are fake as well.

This maker also seems to like famous names like the reich chancellory, bremerhoffen, and templehof airport as his subjects.

Here is a comparison of the reproduction with an honest example of the eagle pattern he has copied.

The rather poor quality of the copy is very evident in this comparison.

Yes Bill I have the repo eagles you talk about, I have 10 different ones that are all repos. I try to pick them up when I see a new style comming out.... The Templehof I have posted and a gray bird on blue police cloth, I bought this a few years ago from a repo guy, you will see that it has a straight beak , no down point on it, Thats why I don't like the RR bird that Gary posted , same straight non pointed beak. I use the same reasoning that you do on birds and patterns...
