Hope this is the right place to post this one. I just picked up a new patch (shown below) and since this is not my normal area of collecting, I was hoping some of my fellow members could help out with a few questions.
My research has led me to believe that there were several different Turkistan arm patches (Shields and Ovals). Does anyone have any information on this particular one ? When it was used and by whom ? Also, was use of this limited to the Heer, or would this patch have also been used in the other branches as well ?
I posted this on another site and had someone tell me it was a fake. So I am just looking for other opinions. It is UV dead.
Thanks for the help, Andrew

After doing some additional research, I came across information which well document this version as a reproduction. There should be no crescent moons on the minarets on this version. A later version does have them, but different lettering on top.
A note for all collectors, this does not glow under UV so it was at least constructed of period materials. But when you hold it in your hand, you can't help but note that it just feels a "little heavier" than a bevo patch should.

well, technically its a fantasy as this shield was never made in bevo... It was however [and please correct me someone if I'm in error here] produced late war with crescents in the printed version....
No glow doesn't always mean its period. Use it as just ONE tool for authenticity test....These bevo fake patchs have been around for at least 20 years that I can remember! , G.

No actually this version "Biz Alla Bilen" was produced in Bevo. Unfortunately the real one doesn't have the crescents.
Not sure if this version was done in silk screen, but I do know the "Tanri biz Meneni" was done in the printed silk screen version. The "Tanri" was actually the one with the crescents.
I know that the UV test is only a guide, I just wanted to advise that this version is in fact UV dead. because at least it shows that the older materials were used in it's construction... Damn thsoe Repro artists !!!
