3rd is an Officer's silver bullion sleeve eagle on black wool that my son Douglas got on a 'Feuerwehr 'Officer's dark black-blue wool tunic he picked up at the show .
It is just about the best bullion sleeve eagle I have seen .
I will post the tunic in the future on the 'Feuerwehr and Fuerschutzpolizei ' Forum section.

Super Adlers! Bernd und Doug - can Never see too many of the Good Eagles...

The 'Direct Embroidery' one is certainly special - as the Officer needed to leave his tunic with the "Embroidery Specialist" to have this accomplished! Really neat! Txs,...Dave/dblmed

If the eagle was a direct embroidery I would almost think that it would have to be done before the tunic was assembled , or at very least the sleeve would have been taken apart to allow the work. These eagles were not embroidered per se, but rather executed in gold wire requiring 100's of small pieces to be sewn down. Nearly, if not actually, impossible on an assembled tunic sleeve. Small quip here, that doesn't take away from the eagle in any way.

Regards,
William Unland

I like the direct embroidery eagle too Bernd. I have only seen two other Pol Officer tunics with direct embroidery eagles on them.

Tailor made on the sleeve using the cardboard eagle template shown below.
